I am a very picky consumer and I am very careful where I spend my hard-earned money. So, how did I end up using Adire?
For two main reasons:
By accessibility to infomation I am talking about receiving fast and complete answers to questions. Since the beginning of my speaker project I have asked well over 30 direct and detailed questions to Adire, many before committing ANY funds to the company. I have never had to wait more than 6 hours of Adire's work time for a complete and satisfactory response via E-Mail. To me this is very important as the 281S was to be my very first DIY speaker design and I knew I was going to have many questions as I went along. (Nevermind that this was also to be my first major woodworking project, but I didn't bother Adire with those questions.)
Adire is also in a unique position when it comes to kit desgin. There are many companies and individuals out there today designing the cabinets and crossovers in kits, but Adire also designs several of the drivers used in Adire kits. This, to me, means they have more intimate knowledge of the kits they are designing and are able to design a 'better kit' (in my opinion) with this information. Why use a company which uses off-the-shelf drivers when I can use a company which designs the drivers AND the kits themselves?
