Adire 281S Externals

This continues my interpretation of the Adire 281S construction. I decided to veneer the front and rear baffles prior to cutting out the holes for the drivers and binding post cups. I went with WOODCRAFT real wood veneers at right around $40 delivered for 2' x 8' packaged sections. I selected a cherry paper-backed veneer, which enabled me to use Titebond contact cement for application. In Pic 11 you see where I was practicing the tweeter cutouts on the actual baffle. Well - I lost the center hole for the circle cutting jig when I did that. Oopsy - but it was OK as I simply used the circle cutting jig to cut out a new center-piece and hammered it in there -perfect fit and disaster avoided. I also used more veneer than necessary to get that mirror-image wood-grain effect between the front and rear baffles on the speakers, so I ended up with two packages of veneer from Woodcraft. This is my first real woodworking project so I would like to thank Louis Lung for his E-mail responses as well as his excellent WEBSITE which I used as a reference on many occasions while building these speakers. To the point of Pic 14 I had around 12 hours and exactly $97.35 invested in these enclosures.
